WhatsApp Latest News & Update: Reveal New 'Video Calling' Feature

After months of speculations, the latest WhatsApp Update finally brings in the video calling feature. Currently on its beta version, the said feature is only available to Android and Windows Phone users. So how does it actually work? Both parties should download the update 2.16.318 in order to make and receive WhatsApp video calls. Previously, the APK code of the WhatsApp update carries version 2.16.316, which was release few days ago. Take note that, while the said beta version is currently available to those who signed up for beta testing, third party applications also makes the update available on certain mobile phones. This however, can be a threat to users as third party applications are not supported with security updates coming from the original beta test. Currently, the WhatsApp update in its beta version has a total of 31.07 MB file size. Unfortunately, this is only applicable to Android devices that have 2.3.4 and higher update versions. Users who wish to download the lates

Twitter unveils new options for customer service

Twitter has been expanding the customer service side of its product, with  recent additions including a Customer Service settings page  for businesses. Today it’s adding a couple more features — namely, an automated welcome message that shows up whenever a customer starts a Direct Message conversation with a business’ account, and “quick replies” that ask the customer to get more specific about their request before the conversation starts. For example, I opened a DM window with  the Evernote customer service account , and before I even sent anything, I was greeted with a “Hi there!” and asked to specify whether I was checking on the status of an existing ticket, asking for technical help or submitting a feature request. This should all feel pretty familiar from other websites and customer service interactions, but it could help businesses collect customer information and route requests properly, which in turn could make them more efficient at providing support on Twitter.

NEW WHATSAPP FEATURES YOU SHOULD KNOW

From less chaotic group chats to richer media sharing, here are some great new features that have recently been added to WhatsApp. Being one of the fastest growing social networks on the planet, WhatsApp needs to keep reinventing. Its users expect it to get better and better. Slowly but surely, the instant messaging giant has been adding some useful features. WhatsApp previously introduced pop-out videos, sending PDFs and documents, sharing from cloud drives, and more. There have been several changes since then. These are the highlights you should know about. New Ways to Shoot Photos and Videos In its latest update, WhatsApp has three new ways to simplify taking pictures and videos. When you use the front-facing cam to take a selfie, you can now switch on “Flash”. This brightens your screen to full, casting more light on your face. In camera mode, double-tap the screen to switch between front and rear cameras. This works for both video and photo. When shooting videos, slide two fing

Uber Drivers In Abuja Are Going On Strike, Starting Today

Starting today, Uber drivers in Abuja will be going on strike following what seems to be a series of problems with the company. For a while now, the Abuja Partner Forum has been trying to get Uber to take note of some issues that have been affecting both drivers and partners in the city. According  Gbenro Ogundipe , an Uber Partner in Abuja, there have been reports of drivers getting robbed by riders, rides not being properly documented (so drivers earn less than what they’re due), amongst other issues. As a result, the Forum sent a couple of mails to Uber, and these mails were, for some reason, being replied by Uber’s SA branch. It goes without saying that the guys over there had almost no idea of what was going on, and could offer little help. Eventually, mails to Uber started getting bounced (you might have noticed this too, if you tried sending Uber a mail over the past few months), and the Forum had to reach Uber via chat on the main site. A meeting with the Uber management te

Man changes name to ‘iPhone 7’, wins free iPhone 7

An electronics store in Ukraine offered to give free iPhone 7’s to the first five people that’d legally change their names to ‘iPhone 7’. Guess what happened next? A   20-year-old man, formerly known as Olexander Turin, took up the challenge and can now be referred to as iPhone Sim (Seven). Turin legally changed his name for a fee of $2, avoiding the lump sum of $850 which is the price of the iPhone 7 in Ukraine. According to news.com.au, Sim’s friends and family were shocked at first but eventually supported the idea — presumably because it just makes good business sense. His sister, Tetyana Panina, said, “it was difficult to accept that and hard to believe it’s true”. She continued: “Each person in this world is looking for a way to express himself. Why not to do that in this way?” Sim told AP that while he plans to keep the name for the time being, he might consider changing it back to his birth name for the sake of his children.

Google scares up cute game for Halloween doodle

The Magic Cat Academy is facing a ghostly catastrophe and Google needs your help to save it. This year's  Halloween doodle  is a game that features Momo, an adorable black cat witch racing the clock to save her school of magic from a horde of invading spirits. By swiping your cursor vertically, horizontally or other patterns, you control Momo's magic wand as she vanquishes ghouls trying to take over the hallowed halls of her school. You score points by eliminating the advancing apparitions as they try to attack Momo in five different levels of the school, from its cafeteria to the rooftop and everything in between. But first a warning: this game is addicting. You may find yourself trapped in it for hours -- time you could be spending today carving up defenseless pumpkins

How to play Facebook Messenger's secret basketball game

On Thursday, Facebook released an update to its iOS Messenger app. Normally such updates are accompanied with a change log that reads to the effect of "various bug fixes." It's never clear what's new -- if anything -- when Facebook updates its apps. The Android app was updated on Wednesday. Only this time Facebook offered some advice in the change log: "Shoot Some Hoops: Want to see what's hiding behind the basketball emoji in Messenger? Just send one and tap to find out!" Following the directions will result in Messenger launching an arcade-style basketball game, where you flick a basketball towards a hoop. As you continue to make or miss baskets, fun emojis and Facebook stickers cheer you on. To start a game, open a Messenger conversation and send a basketball emoji. Once the message is sent, tap on the emoji and Messenger will launch the basketball game. If it's not working for you, make sure you have the latest version installed. In the scre

How to tell if your Facebook has been hacked (and what to do)

Here's a simple way to see if there is someone messing with your Facebook account. There are several different ways hackers use a breached Facebook account. Automatic logins through Facebook allow hackers access to many different site accounts once they've taken over your Facebook account. Spammers hack Facebook accounts to gain access to your following. Your account also gives a hacker a lot of personal information about you that can be used to steal your identity. If you worry that your account has been hacked, there is a simple way to check. Go to the arrow in the upper right-hand corner of your Facebook page and click on it. In the menu, select Settings. A new menu will pop up.Choose Security and then Where You're Logged In. A list of all of the devices that you've logged into and their locations. If there is a login you don't recognize, chances are you may have been hacked.
